Hilbert Bernays Project BYLAWS (Version of April 30, 2008): We hope that these bylaws of the Hilbert Bernays Project will never become necessary because it is a joint project of scientists sharing a common culture of learning, devoted to the benefit of the cultural heritage of mankind. (A) The only goal of the Hilbert Bernays Project is the publication of a bilingual (German/English) commented edition of Grundlagen der Mathematik 1968/70, with reference to the changes as compared to the 1934/39 edition. A bilingual commented version of Ackermann 1940 "Zur Widerspruchsfreiheit der Zahlentheorie" may be added in an appendix, but nothing else. (B) The absolute majority of the completeness of the advisory board (incl. chair) and the editors will be called the PLENUM. Only the PLENUM can change these bylaws. (C) The contributors board is an open community. Everybody who wants to participate is welcome. Only the PLENUM may exclude volunteers from the contributors board. The editors and the advisory board are part of the contributors board. (D) The editors and the chair of the advisory board should receive carbon copies of any e-mail concerning the project and the scientific discussion on it by including grundlagen@ags.uni-sb.de into the CC field. (E) After the completion of a preliminary version of a volume (it may be helpful to publish the original 2 volumes in 4 or 5 bilingual volumes) there will be a workshop meeting of the contributors board, but not earlier than 3 months after completion, to give the contributors a chance to read the volume. The editors have to attend these workshops. The members of the advisory board are strongly recommended to attend. (F) The editors and the chair of the advisory board (in consultation with the advisory board) decide which comments to include into the preliminary volumes until the next workshop meeting, where the PLENUM makes a final decision on the issues.
